This groundbreaking study highlights the intriguing coexistence of recurrent fever attacks and non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (SpA). By analyzing data obtained from the extensive AIDA Network USAIDs registry, researchers have gained valuable insights into the diagnostic journey, clinical manifestations, and treatment strategies employed for patients experiencing unexplained fevers and later found to suffer from axial SpA. By unraveling this connection, the study emphasizes the importance of considering signs and symptoms associated with SpA in patients experiencing unexplained fever episodes.
Recognition of axial SpA in these cases can lead to a definite diagnosis in patients with otherwise no diagnostic solution and to an effective management of both articular manifestations and fever episodes. Therefore, this study paves the way to new diagnostic and classification scenarios for patients with recurrent fever attacks
