The AIDA Network joins the International Council of Ophthalmology

We're thrilled to share the news about AIDA Network's recent inclusion in the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO), a global organization that brings together ophthalmology societies from all over the world. As the only recognized ophthalmology body by the World Health Organization, ICO has a rich history dating back to 1927. The core mission of ICO revolves around enhancing ophthalmic education, promoting patient-centred access to eye care, and preserving and restoring vision on a global scale. A crucial initiative by ICO aims to strengthen eye care capabilities in low- and middle-income regions, addressing urgent public eye health challenges.

This initiative fosters a "World Alliance for Sight," uniting ophthalmology societies, eye care providers, universities, non-governmental organizations, and allied groups. The partnership between AIDA Network and ICO will bolster shared goals, raise ophthalmology standards, and advocate for universal eye health.
