The AIDA Network for Ocular Inflammatory Disorders survey on Cranial Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) is now open

The survey is specifically intended for ophthalmologists and aims to investigate current diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for patients presenting with sudden unilateral blindness or severe visual impairment due to cranial giant cell arteritis (GCA). In particular, it focuses on the management of these patients in emergency departments and other urgent care settings. The survey also explores current patterns of collaboration among ophthalmologists, internists, rheumatologists, neurologists, and other specialists involved in the care of these challenging cases.

The questionnaire, which should take no more than 5 minutes to complete, consists of three brief sections:

•  Background information, including your professional profile, practice setting, and geographic location.

•  Clinical practice questions, focusing on the emergency diagnosis and management of ocular GCA.

•  Future perspectives, gathering your opinions on how urgent diagnostic pathways for these patients could be improved.

The survey is anonymous but at the beginning of the questionnaire, name and institutional affiliation can be optionally provided. This information will only be used to acknowledge your contribution as a collaborator should the survey results be included in a scientific publication.

Being part of an international network is essential to address these complex clinical questions collectively, share expertise and data across countries, and shed new light on inflammatory eye diseases that require multidisciplinary and global collaboration.
