Insights from the AIDA Network on juvenile-onset Behçet's syndrome
A recent collaboration between three Italian tertiary referral centers from the AIDA network (University of Bari, Florence, Siena) has allowed analyzing in depth demographic and clinical features of Behcet’s Syndrome (BS) in pediatric age, evaluating their evolution over a 25-year period, and detecting any potential differences with BS patients having an adult-onset.

The authors reported that juvenile-onset BS resembles the clinical spectrum of adult-onset patients. Further findings highlight that pediatric patients tend to develop less frequently major organ involvement and those with a full-blown disease at onset show a more frequent mucocutaneous involvement.
