This study, exploring the impact of canakinumab (CAN) in Still's disease, investigated whether its effectiveness varies when used as a first-line or subsequent biologic treatment. Analyzing data from 77 patients in the AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance (AIDA) International Registry, the study found no significant differences in treatment outcomes between those who initiated CAN initially versus after prior biologic interventions.

Approximately 23.4% experienced disease relapse during canakinumab treatment, evenly distributed between the two groups. Notably, glucocorticoid use and dosages showed no discernible differences. Overall, the study underscores consistent efficacy for canakinumab in Still's disease, providing valuable insights for a nuanced and tailored approach to optimize patient care.
