In this investigation into pediatric non-infectious uveitis (NIU) treatment, TNF inhibitors biosimilars (BIOs) have emerged as a noteworthy advancement. Examining data from 47 pediatric patients, our study underscores the substantive efficacy of BIOs in mitigating ocular uveitis relapses, thereby contributing to the maintenance of ocular health in this vulnerable population. Moreover, the observed reduction in the risk of ocular flares following BIOs initiation signifies a tangible improvement in treatment outcomes.
The minimal incidence of adverse events further attests to the safety profile of TNF inhibitors BIOs, positioning them as a clinically valuable and scientifically sound therapeutic option for pediatric NIU. This study allowed by data recruiting in the international AIDA Network represents a further step forward towards better management of pediatric patients with NIU in clinical practice.
